Objectives

  • To understand interactions of ionizing radiation with biological system and the resulting biological effects
  • To perform radiation dosimtery calculations and radiation risk assessment
  • To understand the basis for fundamental principles of radiation safety
  • To assess/quantify radiation safety concerns associated with the use of various radiation sources
  • To develop insights on social and policy issues around radiation biology and safety
